Welcome back to Term 2. We begin this term as we finished the last one – action packed! This week has been very busy and we have had lots of students and staff out and about doing a range of different activities and learning.
The staff participated in a Professional Day on Tuesday, continuing with High Impact Teaching Practice (HITP) is a professional learning program that supports teachers to further implement research-based instructional practices in the classroom to revolutionise their impact.
Yesterday our Year 9 students prepared and led our annual ANZAC Day prayer service. Thank you to Mr Mahon and the Year 9 History class for their reverent and respectful service. Thank you to Danny Whitehead, our guest speaker, for giving up his time to share some of his stories with us.
We had two of our Year 10 students selected to attend the “Build a Bridge” REROC Engineering School yesterday, Lily Murphy and Caitlin Drum.
Our Year 7 students have been issued with notes for the upcoming Camp Hudson excursion next week, Thursday 5th and Friday 6th May. This is a cultural immersion where our Stage 4 students will engage with Australia’s traditional people and culture through a range of activities. It promises to be a wonderful time of team building and cultural awareness and celebration.
Our Mock Trial team competed at the Cootamundra Court House today and were in fine form as they were victorious in the mock court case today. photo
Today, Secondary completed their Cross Country which was postponed from the last week of Term 1. Well done to all, for your efforts in running the Cross Country and to Megan Withers for all her organisation and planning.
The Primary Western Region Cross Country was held in Gundagai where Sacred Heart had 38 competitors competing. Congratulations to all who participated. Great day for all as Sacred Heart won the Western Region Cup and won the Western Region Handicap Trophy. A full report of results will be published in our next newsletter.
What a week at Sacred Heart and all in 3 days with our students back at school.
COVID update:
Protocols will remain in place around daily cleaning and hygiene.
There has been a change in the close contact area from NSW Health:
close contacts mat attend school and will need to adhere to the following in addition to the NSW Health guidelines.
- They must notify the school if they are intending to return under this provision.
- They should conduct a daily RAT and return a negative result each morning before attending school for five school days.
