We are well and truly into winter and we have had it all; glorious rain, ripper frosts, the odd fog and some weak winter sun. We have also had all manner of uniform as our students layer to stay warm. We have a significant amount of lost property as students shed the layers throughout the day and forget to collect them at the end of the day. Please label all items of clothing for ease of return. Uniform is the hot topic as we prepare for Photo Day on Wednesday next week. This is important in terms of uniform because we like to ensure that all students are in the correct winter uniform looking their best for the photos. We encourage you to make sure that the students abide by the full uniform code including hair, makeup and accessories. We hope the weather will be kind to us on Wednesday and that we won't have rain soaked students or bedraggled infants presenting for photos. All photos need to be ordered before the day and sibling photos requires a separate payment envelope.
The Long Weekend is always very timely as we are well into the flu and cold season. This gives families a chance to rest and to get over any “bugs” they have picked up. If children are presenting with symptoms, then it is prudent to test for COVID and keep them at home until the symptoms have gone. We are trying to keep our school and extended community well this winter and we encourage students to practice healthy hygiene practice when they cough and sneeze.
Everyone is invited to attend the Feast Day Mass for the celebration of the Sacred Heart. We had to postpone it this week to allow Father Lolesio to be present and share with us this important Mass. It will be held at 12.30 on Friday 14 June after the Stage 1B assembly. There is always lots happening at school on any given day.
This Sunday one of our Year 10 students Jake Winsor will complete a fundraiser to raise money for Mental Health. Jake’s goal is to raise $500 that will go to the Black Dog Institute Foundation. (At the time of writing this Jake had already exceeded his goal which is a fabulous effort)

Over many years our students have recognised the importance of helping others. Whether it be swimming miles or shaving their head or even volunteering their time the generosity of our students in trying to help others is something to foster and grow. There is never a reason not to be kind and strive to help others.
Next term Mr Niddrie is taking some well-deserved leave to look after his young family and Mrs Niddrie will return to take on her position in 3W. In Mr Niddrie’s absence Mr Bell will shift classrooms and move into 2N. We are so grateful that Mr Bell is so flexible, talented and wiling to take on new challenges. More on this shift closer to the changeover at the end of term
We have also had to postpone the Reconciliation Walk for the second time due to the weather. As of yet there has not been another date decided upon, but we hope to let you know asap.
The Infants Liturgy last week was a beautiful celebration of our littlest people’s Faith. Their prayerful liturgy acknowledged the important role of our Mother Mary and indeed all of the motherly people in their lives. They were respectful in leading all parts of the liturgy and we appreciate the effort that their teachers made in preparing the students for their different roles.
Remember, there is always a reason to be kind!
God Bless
Ms Nicky Trinder
