How can it be Week 4 already? The term is flying by but at least the weather has switched from bitter cold to glorious sunshine. Hopefully this pleasant sunny weather will continue for a while. Last week was an epic week right across the school campus. The Man of Steel 2024 Musical Production was a wonderful success. Our cast and crew brought the long days, and weeks of rehearsal in the cold dark hall to a glittering performance. On behalf of the cast and crew we thank the entire school community for their support, for weathering interruptions and filling in all the gaps. The students were so impressive in their acting, singing and dancing and they were a pleasure to work with. So many memories were made and friendships that could last a lifetime.
Our talented Public Speakers from Primary competed in the regional final in Young last week. Once again, our students conducted themselves with distinction. Congratulation to Emmeline Last, Ava Sannazzaro and Thomas Shields who represented our school. Emmeline was successful at making it through to the final rounds of the Archdiocesan competition and will compete in Batemans Bay this week. We wish her every success.
On Friday we celebrated 100 days of school for our Kindergarten students. It was a fabulous family celebration of the early days of their educational journey. The costumes were amazing and the parents joined to celebrate in the afternoon. Thank you to the wonderful Infants staff for a lovely memorable moment for our littlest learners.
Book Fair was another successful venture last week celebrating all things books and reading. Mrs Randall was very pleased with the interest in the books and the promotion of the benefits of reading. Thank you to all the families who visited and purchased a book. You can never have too many books!!!!
Don’t forget that in week 5 and 6 (Thursday 22nd and Tuesday 27th August) parents and students will have the opportunity to book interviews with the teachers to discuss the progress and development of their student/s. Booking will be made available on COMPASS in coming days and we encourage as many parents as possible to take advantage of this opportunity to acknowledge the successes and growth and the recommended strategies moving forward for the remainder of the year. Remember, if you have concerns or questions about your child’s learning you are always welcome to make contact with the teacher at any time but this is a valuable chance to have dedicated time to discuss your child’s progress.
Our two Small Schools Rugby League teams travelled to Wagga to contest the first of the Gala days for the region. The boys conducted themselves very well and can be very proud of their efforts but were unlucky to miss out on going through to the next level. Thank you to the staff and parents who supported the boys. This Tuesday our Primary student will compete in the Trent Barrett Shield in Harden. We wish them every success and hope they have a great day.
The refurbishment of the Primary Block is in full swing with the internal demolition complete and about to start on the new doorways into the playground. It has taken a bit longer than we expected to get all the paperwork signed off but there are significant developments happening everyday. We cant wait for the day when we can move back into our wonderful new learning spaces.
REMINDER: Catholic Education are already making plans for the staffing of Sacred Heart for 2025. IF you know of anyone who is considering enrolling their child/ren for next year please encourage them to make contact asap. We are steadily growing in numbers, and we want to carefully plan for the new year. It has been an absolute delight to meet with new students and their parents who will be joining us next year. We have our second parent information evening for Kindergarten 2025 next Tuesday night so please let anyone know that if they are considering a Sacred Heart education that they call the Front Office for more information. Also, if for any reason you child will not be continuing at our school in2025 please inform the school at your earliest convenience.
