A reminder to all staff and students about the new protocols and expectation that came into effect last Wednesday 19 August that those who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms MUST be tested and present receipt of a negative test before they return to school.
These new restrictions and guidelines are to be implemented at the school by Wednesday 19 August 2020. A significant change to the guidelines is in regard to COVID-19 testing requirements. We need to continue to exclude any students (or staff) if they display any flu-like symptoms, even if mild. Students (and staff) with even mild flu-like symptoms are now required to be tested and can only return to school upon a receipt of a negative test result that must be provided to the school.
A huge thank you to Ms Marsay for her excellent virtual presentation to the student and families transitioning to Year 7 for 2021. These challenging times have necessitated that we “think outside the box” in providing our usual processes and procedures. The Information session was entertaining and very informative and we hope that we can promote all that is great about Sacred Heart to any prospective students.
Last night our dedicated P & F committee met (via ZOOM) to discuss fundraising ventures and the progress of our 600 Club $5000 in the hand raffle tickets. Currently we have over 171 tickets sold or returned but there is still some way to go in the next few weeks to ensure that we meet our targets and provide a well needed boost to our P & F bank balance. This is the only fundraising venture that the P & F has been able to organise in these COVID times. We are requesting that ALL tickets (SOLD or UNSOLD) be returned to by Monday 21 September so that we can finalise all tickets before the end of term. It is a legal requirement that all tickets are returned regardless of whether you have found buyers for them. Early next term, after the raffle is drawn, the P & F will embark in another fundraising initiative, the sale of signature pavers to be laid in the school yard. We already have many families who have marked their association with the school through a signature/dated paver that has been built into the playground. Keep an eye out for the flyer that will be sent home early in Term 4. At this time we are unsure of how much they will be cost.
Mrs Kylie Winsor has very generously volunteered to be the Clothing Pool contact for any families requiring uniform items. As we make the change at the end of term into the summer uniform it is important to realise that we have a range of pre-loved items available across K-10 sizes. It is not an exhaustive supply but if you would like to request some items please contact the Front Office and leave an itemised list of what you would like to try and Mrs Winsor will sort them and leave them at the front desk for collection. So too, if you have any uniform items that are no longer required please consider giving them to the uniform pool so that we can continue to provide for our families.
Speaking of uniforms, we are also considering including the school logo on the primary girls summer blue shirt to match the white shirts worn by our secondary girls. If you have an opinion on this matter please direct your comments either to the P & F Chair – Mrs Bianca Jones or myself. We will get a sample shirt embroidered so that interested people can view it in the front office.
Remember if you can be anything…. Be kind!
God Bless
